All Is Well: SHINE - Celebrating the People Who Make a Difference
Written from my sofa, in front of the fan, with Lola by my side (both of us having decided that moving any more than absolutely necessary in this very warm weather is simply not required), reflecting on something I think we all need a little more of…noticing the people who genuinely make life a little brighter.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been chatting with some truly wonderful humans, the kind who remind you that the world isn’t entirely held together by coffee, chaos, and people pretending they’ve read the email.
We’ve been reconnecting with schools we’ve worked with before, who welcomed Queen Lola back with open arms (and she immediately resumed her role as Head of Snack Security, conducting a full audit of treat locations).
We’ve also been meeting new schools and communities who will be joining the All Is Well family from September, and those conversations have reminded us of something very simple:
People.
The people who care.
The people who show up.
The people whose actions speak louder than their words.
The people with genuine integrity who quietly make a difference every single day, often without anyone noticing, applauding, or offering them a biscuit. And it got us thinking…
When do we ever stop and actually tell those people what they mean to us?
When do we say, “Your kindness genuinely mattered,” instead of assuming they magically know through osmosis?
Because the truth is the world is full of incredible people who make life a little brighter. They create little glimmers in someone else’s day without even knowing it. They might not be the loudest voices in the room. They might not be looking for recognition. They might not even realise the impact they’ve had.
But someone noticed. Someone remembered.
Someone felt supported, encouraged, understood, or simply a little less alone because of them.
As we approach our first birthday, we’ve been reflecting on how much love, support and kindness has surrounded All Is Well from day one. We simply couldn’t have reached this milestone without the incredible people who have cheered us on along the way.
Our friends and family.
The schools who welcomed us in.
The children and families who put their trust in us.
The professionals who believed in what we do.
The people who shared our posts, encouraged us, opened doors for us, and the wonderful new friendships we’ve made throughout this journey.
And yes, even the people who shared our posts while social media algorithms were clearly having one of their mysterious little moments. We noticed. Thank you. 💙
So, for our birthday, we wanted to do something that isn’t about us.
It’s about them. And you.
Introducing the All Is Well: SHINE Wall
A place to share stories of kindness and celebrate the people who quietly make a difference.
The ones who offer kindness when nobody is watching.
The ones who say, “I’ll help, don’t worry.”
The ones who make someone else’s day just that little bit easier.
The ones who remind us that goodness still exists in the everyday.
We’d love for you to share a SHINE story with us.
It could be about:
A teacher who went above and beyond.
A friend who always knows when someone needs support.
A colleague who makes work a better place (or at least a little more bearable!).
A neighbour who quietly helps others.
A family member who has always been there.
Or someone else entirely.
Want to help someone shine?
If someone has made your world, or someone else’s world, a little brighter, we’d love to hear their SHINE story.
This isn’t about awards. It isn’t about choosing “the best”. It’s simply about taking a moment to say:
I see you.
Thank you.
You made a difference.
SHINE stories will begin appearing on the All Is Well: SHINE Wall when it launches on our birthday, with some stories also being shared across our social media pages.
And because Lola believes kindness deserves celebrating, there may even be a few extra special SHINE surprises for her favourite stories along the way. 🐾
Every SHINE story is a reminder that kindness matters, that glimmers are everywhere, and that the people who create them deserve to know they’ve made a difference.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the people who make the world shine a little brighter. 💙
