Welcome to the All Is Well Approach

Supporting Emotional Wellbeing Through Connection and Compassion

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here…whether by intention or an accidental curious click. Either way, you’re in the right place.

At All Is Well Approach, we believe every child - and the grown-ups supporting them - deserve to feel safe, understood, and equipped to thrive. Not just to survive the emotional rollercoaster of life, but maybe even to enjoy a few loops along the way. This blog is where I’ll share insights, stories, and practical tips inspired by trauma informed care, the magic of the human animal bond, and a bit of nervous system science (don’t worry, it’s the fun kind).

You might have heard about my amazing therapy dog, Lola, the expert of calm and cuddles. Together, we visit schools, community groups, and family support organisations to help children feel less like they’re walking through a storm and more like they’re wrapped in a fluffy blanket. But we’re here for the adults, too, because when educators, parents, volunteers, and support workers feel confident and connected, children flourish.

Our approach blends kindness, science, and a good dose of puppy power to create safe, nurturing environments where both children and the adults who care for them can build resilience and confidence. Honestly, Lola’s tail wagging alone has been scientifically proven to boost moods. Okay, I made that up, but it definitely feels true!

Why trauma informed care? Because when we understand that behaviour is often a way of saying “I’m overwhelmed” or “I need help,” everything changes. It moves us away from “because I said so” and toward “let’s figure this out together.” It’s about meeting children, and the adults who support them, where they are, even if that place is a little messy, loud, or tearful — and guiding everyone toward calm, safety, and connection.

Over the next weeks and months, I’ll be sharing topics that matter: how our nervous system influences emotions, practical ways to support wellbeing at school, at home, and in the community, stories from the frontline of therapy dog visits, and ideas for educators, parents, volunteers, and anyone supporting children.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. Together, we can help more children, and their grown-ups, feel “All is Well” inside. Because who doesn’t want a little more peace when life gets chaotic?

Sending calm paws and kind thoughts,
Catherine (and Lola — unofficial tail wagging assistant)
